I have 25 combined years of experience in Critical Care Nursing and Engineering. As a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant (CLNC) I have a unique background in all three disciplines of legal nurse, nursing, and engineering to critique all medical files and technical reports. I continue to work as a bedside critical care nurse across the country while adapting to new challenges and continuously staying current with all national and state guidelines on the Standards of Care. This unique background and experience enables me to customize and adapt to the individual needs of each client.

EXPERIENCE

EHELPS May 2006-Present

Certified Legal Nurse Consultant (CLNC) - Consulting Expert for plaintiff and defense attorneys. Services include but are not limited to: screen/investigate cases for merit, define applicable standards of care and deviations and adherences to the applicable standards of care. Assess alleged damages and/or injuries, identify factors that cause or contribute to allege damages and/or injuries identify and recommend potential defendants, conduct literature research, analyze and compare expert witness reports and other work products. Prepare deposition and trial examination questions, and assist in exhibit preparation.

 
Northside Hospital, St. Petersburg FL March 2008–Present

Emergency Department as both Staff and Charge Nurse. Care for patients with acute stroke (CVA), hemorrhagic bleeds, acute heart attacks (MI) dissecting aortic aneurysms, pulmonary emboli, respiratory failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), GI Bleeds, Gunshot Wounds, and Cardiac Arrest. Care of patients requiring management of critical drips, intubation, and mechanical ventilation to acquire stability prior to being transferred to Critical Care Unit. Also, care for numerous non-emergent patients.

Travel Nurse Assignment in a 16-bed Critical Care Unit (CCU). Responsible for delivery of care to critically ill patients requiring mechanical ventilation, titration of critical drips, hemodynamic monitoring and computer charting. Also floated to Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) caring for open-heart patients on critical drips, mechanical ventilators and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP).
